For tough materials like stainless steel, Type VA solid carbide or HSS drills are recommended. BSG's RT 100 VA solid carbide drill, featuring a 140° point angle and a 30° helix angle, is particularly effective. These tools, with specially adapted geometry, reduce heat and produce short chips, enhancing performance with stainless steel. For optimal results, use solid carbide drills with an appropriate hard material coating.
Hardened steel, heated to 750-1050 °C, demands drills with enhanced mechanical resistance. We recommend BSG's RT 100 HF Ratio drill with a TiAIN coating for these applications.
